My somatic healing therapy is a body-centered approach to healing that can help release trauma, stress, and emotional pain stored in the body. Unlike traditional talk therapy, which primarily focuses on thoughts and emotions, somatic therapy gently engages your nervous system to uncover the past experiences that are held physically. 

Through mindful awareness, body-based techniques, and nervous system regulation practices, somatic healing can help restore your sense of safety and ease.

Somatic Experiencing, developed by Dr. Peter Levine, is a world-renowned method at the forefront of modern healing techniques. It utilizes gentle body awareness to help process and renegotiate traumatic experiences, facilitating a return to a state of balance and well-being. This approach aligns with modern neuroscience, showing how the mind and body are deeply interconnected in healing.

What are somatic healing techniques, and how do they work?

Somatic healing techniques are practical tools that help you reconnect the mind and body, guiding your nervous system toward balance. These techniques often focus on your sensory awareness, movement, and grounding practices to release stored tension, unresolved emotions and promote healing.

My Start With Trauma

Not too long ago, in what feels like a past life now, I was filled with the aftermath of Trauma…

At the time I didn’t know that’s what it was.

I was drowning in shame, lived with chronic pain, and suffered through lonely depressive times before I discovered the profound impact of somatic therapy and somatic healing. I was constantly overriding my internal messages, I said yes to things I really wanted to say no to, and I embarrassingly continued to create the most dysfunctional relationships.

I was suffering & felt trapped in my experience.

Needless to say, I went on a journey studying trauma resolution and body-based healing methods.

But basically, the long and the short of it goes a little like this:

After having a really big wake up call, where my deeper issues had surfaced and became blatantly obvious, smacking me in the face…

I did what I do – turned towards it and began my next soul cycle of healing.

I had already taken myself through deep psychotherapy, energy healing & soul work.

So where do I turn to now?

This question steered me toward somatic therapy and other body-based trauma resolution work, ultimately guiding me to somatic healing therapy practices that now support my clients.  

In 2017 I enrolled in a somatic healing for people with trauma(soma = body) based coaching program & by 2020 had become a practitioner of 5 body-oriented approaches: 

  • Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

  • Biodynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release Practitioner

  • Yamuna Body Rolling Practitioner

  • Certified Sex, Love & Relationship Coach

  • Alchemical Alignment: Trauma Resolution & Embodiment of Spirit Practitioner

During this time, I worked with two of the most gifted somatic therapists I know, studied rigorously in somatic experiencing therapy, and began weaving these body-based trauma resolution approaches into my work.

I resolved the deep-rooted developmental trauma that was plaguing my relationships and grew into a secure attachment style.

The long held chronic pain began to evaporate as I began to have more energy and feel lighter.

Healed boundary ruptures, and I began to own my voice, I began to live congruently with my yes’s and no’s.

I became deeply embodied, listened to, and followed its impulses and began making healthier choices in many areas of life.

The depression lifted, anxiety lessened, and my confidence soared.

I began to feel light & free in a way I had only dreamed of.

My internal reality shifted profoundly, and these changes rippled into my life, showing the beauty of somatic experiencing exercises and how deeply this work touches all aspects of life.

I embodied these somatic healing methods as they anchored deeply into my bones and became central to my trauma recovery and the healing work I now share. And I began weaving the trauma resolution work & body-based approaches into my existing work with clients.

And the most amazing transformations have been occurring:

 
 

I had been suffering from worsening anxiety for which I saw a therapist and psychiatrist to treat… Sessions weren’t helping, and meds caused me to progress to full blown panic attacks that were detrimental to my everyday life.

I was looking for an alternative and found Brianna… Through working with her on trauma resolution and my nervous system dysregulation, my panic attacks have all but stopped and my anxiety is minimal!!!

  • Boundary repair work.

  • Support in becoming more stable and regulated through somatic healing therapy, bringing a sense of peace to clients healing from trauma. Educate and help people embody trauma healing principals so they can orient and move through life with more presence and internal peace.

  • Move out of an existence where they feel broken or wounded and into wholeness where they feel spiritually connected and are more freely able to live from the truth of their being while living the life of their dreams.

how we work together:

Sessions are offered over Zoom or in person in the city of San Juan Capistrano, CA, where I guide clients in somatic therapy in Orange County to reconnect and heal.

During the first session we always start by reviewing the client intake form that you will receive upon booking your first appointment. We will discuss what brings you in for healing and through the process identify your core patterns of disharmony and how it originated within your mind, body and spirit. We will then establish goals for healing, discuss a loose treatment plan, and assign homework if it feels appropriate.

 
 

Commonly asked questions:

Q: I live too far to come in person and can only do sessions over Zoom. Will we still be able to do everything as if we were together in person, including somatic experiencing exercise?

A: Majority of the modalities and interventions do not actually require us to be in person. And I have alternative methods that have proven to be just as effective as hands on touch. So yes, you will still be able to get the results you are desiring whether you are in person or over zoom.

Q: Will my insurance cover this?

A: No, unfortunately insurance does not cover this service.

Q: What is the cost per session?

A: 1 hour appointments are $190.

1.5 hour appointments are $285.

Cards are charged at the time of booking. After scheduling you will receive a confirmation email. And shortly after that you will receive a separate email with the ‘Client Intake Forms’. Please bring this form completed to our first in person session or return it within 48 hours of an online zoom session.
